Doing More: Utilizing the Capabilities of an SDR

In this talk we will explore the myriad of capabilities that have been added to SDRs in the last few years and how these advances enhance both the enjoyment of radio and provide new key insights into the radio spectrum and the signals that occupy it.  

We will cover several operating modes focusing on the SDR features that enhance those modes and make contacts both easier and more enjoyable.  

And we'll show how the ever-increasing integration of SDR radios and other hardware and software can provide new features not previously available

 It will also include an update on the latest new products and software from FlexRadio.

 

 

k5sdrGerald Youngblood K5SDR founded FlexRadio Systems in April 2003 to develop and market the industry’s first Software Defined Radio (SDR) products to the amateur radio market. As President and CEO Gerald is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the company. Prior to FlexRadio Systems, he founded and ran five technology companies spanning hardware, software and electronic manufacturing, one of which he took public in 1996. He has been a ham since 1967 as WA5RXV, KE5OH, AC5OG, and now holds an Extra Class License as K5SDR. Gerald received a BSEE degree from Mississippi State University. He is a member of the ARRL Software Defined Radio Working Group and is a recipient of the ARRL 2002 Doug DeMaw, W1FB, Technical Excellence Award and the Central States VHF Society 2004 John T. Chambers Award.
